ASSUMPTION OF RISK

Rainbow Trout Ranch is pleased to provide you with a recreational vacation, and we are so excited to have you here! During your stay with us, you will have the opportunity to partake in many activities, including horseback riding, hiking, fishing, swimming, trapshooting, horse-drawn hayrides, dancing and more.

We know that waivers can be intimidating, but please keep in mind that we have been offering wonderful, safe guest ranch vacations for thirty years and your safety is our priority. Accidents can and do happen but they are not frequent and over the years we estimate them to be under a fraction of a percent of the many, many hours our guests spend in the saddle and around the ranch. Our goal is to keep you safe, and for you to have a great time.

Please understand that the risk of exposure to or contraction of COVID19 cannot be eliminated despite best efforts at mitigation, and that all participants must accept the inherent risk presented by the fact that you cannot effectively eliminate the virus from the environment.

Under Colorado law an equine professional is not liable for an injury to or the death of participant resulting from the inherent risk of equine activities, pursuant to section 13-21-119, Colorado Revised Statutes.

By signing this Assumption of Risk statement, you are signing the Waiver and acknowledging the Eligibility, and you are acknowledging that you are aware that there are inherent risks in the activities in which you will be participating and that you are assuming these risks for yourself and on behalf of all members of your family or group and that you have assumed the obligation of informing all members of such risks.

We are in a remote part of Colorado. Please note that the nearest medical clinic is in Antonito (30 minutes), and the nearest hospital is in La Jara (45 minutes) and that it is a small rural hospital. The San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center is the area’s largest hospital and is located in Alamosa (1 hour).
